Andy Ellison is an MRI technician at Boston University School of Medicine. In addition to scanning brains, he also creates stunning MRI scans of fruits and vegetables.
The images show the cross-section everyday food items, such as an onion (seen on the right), a bell pepper, and a peach. All of the images can be found on Ellison's blog Inside Insides.
Ellison initially scanned an orange as a way to test his machine's settings. Amazed by the resulting images, he began looking for more produce and plants to scan.
We previously posted still images of Ellison's work, but he's also made some really cool animated GIFs by stitching those images together.
