Tadao Cern, a Lithuanian-based photographer and architect, digitally recreated Vincent Van Gogh’s famous self-portrait as a modern photograph. The results are striking, gone are the impressionist brushstrokes — replaced instead with a stark reality, which Cern describes as ‘revealing the truth.’
“This image is a digital recreation of the artist’s most iconic self-portraits using photography and digital retouching. The video is a comparison of a painting and my image,” the artist states. Here’s the finished result from Cern:
